herreraaustin+FollowGreat Great Grandma'sThe design is seriously unlike anything I have ever seen. People are debating whether it’s from the 1960s or the 1980s, but honestly, it has this stunningly unique, post-modern architectural vibe that makes it feel timeless. It’s a tiny sculpture for your finger. #Jewelry #VintageJewelry #Heirloom #EngagementRing #GrandmasRing 121Share
herreraaustin+FollowFound This at a Yard Sale. Am I a Bad Person for Keeping It? 😳I happened to stop by a yard sale right after it was over, and everything left was free for the taking. It looked like a family was clearing out their mother's old stuff, so there was a ton of old belongings. I grabbed a few things. Long story short, I got home and opened up the box. It held three smaller boxes. The first one had some old Boy Scout pins, and another had two sets of very nice earrings. The third one had a vintage-looking ring with a 14k marking and some other engraving. It was clearly not something that was meant to be given away for free 😱😳 I have been so conflicted about what to do ever since. On one hand, I could leave a note for the family saying I think something was accidentally given away. On the other hand, it would be easy to just keep it and get the ring sized for my daughter one day. I feel pretty awful just for considering that, but I have no idea how to handle this. I am really struggling with this and could use some advice from you all. 😂 #YardSaleFinds #MoralDilemma #FoundTreasure #AdviceNeeded #Honesty #WhatWouldYouDo #HelpNeeded #Jewelry #DailyAdventures 42034629Share
jennifercooley+FollowJust Bought This Bright Green 18K Ring for $2.38 at the Thrift Store. Score! The thing that made me grab it immediately was the little marking that says 18K inside the band. The stone itself looks like a really beautiful piece of chrysoprase. And the price? $2.38 USD. I swear, I almost fainted right there in the aisle. I still haven't had the metal tested to confirm that 18K marking, but honestly, just looking at the stone and the setting, it looks legit to me. #ThriftStoreFinds #JewelryHaul #Chrysoprase #VintageRing #18KGold #LuxuryForLess #Thrifting #Jewelry 8325Share
herreraaustin+FollowI Love the Ring My Boyfriend Secretly Designed, But I Might Cry Over the Prongs. My boyfriend and I went to the UK for a vacation this summer and decided to do some fun ring browsing. I went into total detail describing my ideal ring to the jeweler, and we left it at that. What I did not know is that my amazing boyfriend secretly paid for the jeweler to create the exact ring I described. I was completely shocked when I found out. He does not know I have seen the final result, and I am mostly ecstatic, but I have a major, silent issue. I am about 85% satisfied. I never specified wanting round prongs, and they are really bothering me. I thought the default setting for a stone this style was generally claw prongs. I am so grateful and would never say anything to him, but I cannot stop fixating on the round prongs. My question is for the jewelers and engagement ring experts out there. Since we live in the US and the ring was made in the UK, getting adjustments from the original shop is going to be incredibly difficult. Is this something I can easily get fixed or modified by a US jeweler later on. Or is there some secret benefit to round prongs that I am missing. Help me feel better about this beautiful ring. #EngagementRing #Jewelry #Ring #HelpMe 1113Share
brenda51+FollowI was proposed to with the ring I said I hated. Please be brutally honestI said yes last week and I am completely thrilled to be engaged. The ring, however, has taken me by surprise. My fiancé showed me this exact ring online a while ago, and I told him it was not for me. He showed it to me again physically a few months later and I still said it was too pink. I am worried that it looks too playful or even a little childish for an engagement ring. Everyone I know is being super polite and just saying it is beautiful. I need honest, unbiased opinions from strangers. #EngagementRing #Jewelry #JewelryAdvice #RelationshipAdvice 289702Share
james90+FollowMy late grandma worked at a British munitions factory. So why did she have this bracelet with a symbol like THIS???My British grandmother died before I was born. I inherited some of her belongings and was going through a box of her old things when I found this tiny bracelet. It’s a bit of a shock because it looks like it has a swastika on it. I do not think she was a Nazi. It also has a small flag on it with the letters "SHDG" and the word "monterosa." And if you need more information, I remember my grandfather served in the Canadian army in World War II and met her at a dance in Britain while she was working at an ammunitions factory. I am just hoping that I can find out what this is and figure out why she might have had it. I am really hoping someone out there can help me solve this mystery. #FamilyHistory #WWII #Jewelry #Mystery #Swastika #HelpNeeded #Jewelry #FamilySecrets #FamilyStories 698310Share
jennifercooley+FollowShould I Get This Appraised or Just Toss It?I was going through some old stuff that belonged to a family member and found these items. Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what they are or if they are even real. For all I know, they could be complete fakes. I am hoping someone here with a little more knowledge can give me an idea of what I'm looking at. #FoundObjects #PearLovers #Antique #Collectibles #Jewelry #HelpNeeded 174153Share
Stacey Hart+FollowFound “treasure” going through boxes of my late mom’s stuff… still in shock 💍We’ve been slowly going through boxes of my late mom’s stuff, and most of it has been the usual odds and ends (think newspaper clippings and half-used tape dispensers). But today I opened an old suitcase pocket and found something wrapped in paper towels… and wow. It’s definitely not junk. I’m going to get it appraised, and I’ll probably pass it on to one of my sisters since it’s not really my style, but I’m still kind of stunned. A cursory search shows that this was likely part of their "Allegra" collection. This is a similar piece that sold at auction for 29,000 Euros... Jesus. #FoundObjects #FamilyStories #UnexpectedFinds #Decluttering #Jewelry 27020Share
jennifercooley+FollowFound a Bracelet in My Washing Machine. A Friend Says It Could Be Worth a FortuneI'm in a new apartment and a few days ago, I found this bracelet tangled up in the washing machine. I didn't think anything of it, just put it aside and forgot about it. Today, I showed it to a friend and she told me it looked like it could be high karat gold. I got out a magnifying glass and found a stamp on it that says 99m. There's also some kind of maker's mark next to it that isn't in English. I have no idea what "99m" means. Does this mean this thing is 24 karat gold? Can anyone out there help me figure out what this bracelet is? #FoundTreasure #Mystery #Gold #Jewelry #WhatsThis #TreasureHunt #HelpMe 951790Share
sgarcia+FollowA hospice patient gifted me theseI volunteer at a hospice, and I've spent a lot of time with an elderly lady there. She didn’t have many visitors so I was basically the one who kept her company. Last week she handed me this little box of jewelry. I have no idea if any of it is real. My gut says it’s all just costume jewelry, but now I’m curious. I just feel ridiculous walking into a jewelry store and asking someone to check them. What if they tell me it’s all from Macy’s and give me that pity smile. I can see tiny markings on the inside of a few pieces but I can’t make them out. Is taking them to a store really the only way to find out? I want to know but I also don’t want to feel like an idiot.😞 #JewelryAdvice #HelpNeeded #HospiceStories #Jewelry 22951913Share
