I’m not against immigrants, I just wish my town was ready.

We’ve had a lot of new folks arrive in the past six months. Good people, polite, hard-working. But the town wasn’t ready — schools are packed, housing’s a mess, and local clinics can’t even handle current patients. I don’t blame the immigrants. I blame the system for dropping them in without support. If we’re going to welcome people — let’s do it right: language programs, jobs lined up, healthcare access. My grandparents were immigrants, I can’t be mad at people chasing the same dream.

Everyone in my family came here with nothing. My grandma worked as a housekeeper; my grandpa laid bricks until his hands shook. Now I see people crossing borders and getting called criminals.
