I Went Into My Attic for Christmas Lights and Found This. What Is That Blue Stuff?
I have only been in the house for about a year—my anniversary is next week. I included a picture of the scene. I have absolutely no idea what I am looking at. That is the suction line on your air conditioning. It is insulated because it gets cold when the ac is running. Mice, rats, or squirrels have torn off the insulation and condensation has dripped off the copper line, hence the greenish colored residue.

Could be oxidation that flaked off the copper tubing. Looks like you have a rodent that’s been chewing on the insulation and most likely the copper too.

Looks like Copper +1 (Cu +1) from water condensing on the copper pipe, oxidixing the copper and dripping off. Replace the insilation.

Rodents. Call an exterminator before they do some real damage. Check your insurance policy to make sure it covers vermin in your area.

I had a similar issue where a family of six Raccoons were removed from my attic by the previous owner some years before I bought the house.
When decided to add more insulation I found around 40 to 50 golf ball sized rocks up there. After clearing it out I realized that it was petrified raccoon feces.
Had as rocks!

That is the pipe insulation. Not knowing where you live it’s either rats or squirrels. I betting of squirrels or chipmunk.
