I was proposed to with the ring I said I hated. Please be brutally honest

Since you asked for honest opinions - here is mine: the issue is not the ring - it’s your fiancé You told him TWICE you did not like the ring. He disregarded what you said and bought it anyway. If it were me, I would hand him back the ring and end the relationship. He is already trying to control you, that won’t change and it will escalate. Dodge the bullet now and thank your lucky stars you did.

Don't marry him he already is not listening/hearing you. Knowing how u felt about the ring and he still gave it to you is not a good sign.

The ring is gorgeous, looks good on your hand, and it was given to you by the person who loves you and wants to marry you. Need I say more?

It’s a pretty ring but my concern is why would he disregard your feelings about a ring you would have to wear for “ever.”

If I ask a woman to marry me and they had issues with the ring, that would let me know that this isn’t the woman for me. Reducing our love to the quality of a ring would send me running .

It’s beautiful!! Be kind thankful and gracious. He saw it and it made him think of you. Honey if it’s that big of deal maybe you need to rethink being engaged.

1. Pink Diamonds are significantly more expensive than white Diamonds 2. It does not look childish. It actually looks great. 3. Why would you change the ring he purchased to basically say to him. “You don’t know what you’re doing” which is how he will receive it 4. Why can’t you love it because he loves it and picked it for you with love? 5. I got married with a wedding band, and never had an engagement ring. And didn’t care. And we have been married fie 21 yers. Sis, you’re worried about the wrong thing. Let the man have his moment. What’s important is he loves you. 6. I literally do not know one person who changes their ring because they didn’t like it “diamond is too small”. “Wrong shape” and they are not married anymore.

I’m so surprised people are siding w/the man and not the woman in this situation because she told him twice beforehand that it wasn’t her style, her preferences were different and she clearly said “that is not for me…” Though he bought & gave it to her anyway🤔 I don’t think I would marry a man who completely disregarded what I told him about such a significant important symbol 🙏🏼

If you plan to marry him, start with the conversation as to why he bought something you didn’t like. It’s a tough spot but once you find out why you might love the ring even more. Conversations is the best practice for a good strong marriage. And I think the ring is gorgeous and has a deeper meaning. Good luck pretty lady.
