Winston Salem has one on Peter's Creek Parkway but it's been closed for years. It'd be nice if they'd let the homeless people in the area sack out inside during bad weather, so they could at least have a sturdy roof and walls to shelter them from all the dangerous lightning and thunderstorms we have in North Carolina, as well as from the cold, ice and snow during the harsh winters. Especially since there aren't 10% of the necessary beds available in the current shelters. At least if these old, abandoned, unused, and obviously unneeded or unwanted buildings in Winston Salem could be made available for that sort of use, then maybe all our unhoused fellow residents would have some kind of option to help keep themselves alive in the Fall and Winter seasons soon to come!!! If they're unimportant enough to the people or companies that own them as to be abandoned, then what would it hurt to let people, who would be overwhelmingly grateful to have even that poor shelter, sack out in them?
