We need to talk about the "holy idols" we refuse to let go of in our churches 🛑

I was reading about King Hezekiah today, and it seriously challenged my view on modern church traditions. Back in Numbers, God used a bronze serpent on a pole to miraculously heal the Israelites. It was a legitimate, God-ordained miracle tool. But centuries later in 2 Kings 18, the people had started burning incense to it. They turned a past miracle into a present idol. So what did Hezekiah do? He completely smashed it to pieces. He literally called it "Nehushtan" (just a piece of brass). It made me look at our modern church culture. How many traditions, specific worship styles, or past revival methods are we still bowing down to, long after God has moved on? We cling to the methods of the past instead of seeking the God of the present. Sometimes God has to smash our favorite religious traditions so we can actually see Him again. #ChurchTruth #Idolatry #Hezekiah #SpiritualGrowth #WakeUp

Matthew 6:9–14 is part of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and includes the famous “Lord’s Prayer.” In this passage, Jesus teaches a model for how to pray with humility, sincerity, and focus on God’s will. The prayer begins by honoring God (“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name”), then expresses a desire for His kingdom and will to be fulfilled.
