I was on snap when the kids were born. We were young and hadn’t established a career. Minimum skill paid minimum wages. It was mean as and was used as a temporary fix to a bad situation. I see a lot of videos of people who are proud of taking money from the government. And have been for years. Decades. We have generations of people abusing temporary aid! They got their hair all did and nails done but getting a couple thousand for snap. 😳 WTF? I’m all for helping someone out of a situation but some of this is just flat out theft. #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk

not enough

when I do get my SNAP, it's not enough with the rising costs. this shutdown is absurd. it's going to cause havoc. food banks being overwhelmed and people shoplifting to get what they need #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk

My husband of 17 years abandoned myself and our 2 sons ages 7 and 9. He was our sole source of income. He would work, I would stay at home and raise our young family.That was our deal. Until it wasn't. He left in the middle of the night without even a goodbye. Needless to say, desperate time call for desperate measures. I found myself applying for and needing food stamps and cash assistance. Within 2 years I was able to have a full time so I no longer qualified or needed the cash assistance. But the food stamps were a blessing for 2 growing boys. By year 3 I was still working full time and going to college 3/4 time. I completely went off of any public assistance. These programs were put in place the be a hand up. Not a hand out. SNAP and EBT were NEVER meant to be a way of life. They were designed to help us not for us to be dependent on them. The self esteem that I mustered from my experience is something I have always been proud of. I rose like a Phoenix out of the ashes of despare and became a strong self sufficient woman. I showed my 2 sons great work ethics. They are both successful in their own right. I feel as though people are definitely milking the SNAP and EBT program. It's not easy, but getting off the benefits. Getting the government out of your lifestyle and becoming self sufficient is what's really best for society as a hole. #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk

I’m deeply concerned about what’s happening right now — especially for the children and families who depend on SNAP just to survive. No child in this country should have to go to bed hungry because grown adults in power can’t get it together. We’re talking about parents who already stretch every dollar, single mothers trying to feed their kids, seniors choosing between food and medicine — and now they’re expected to “wait it out” during a shutdown? That’s not leadership, that’s cruelty. If this system was truly about fairness, we’d make sure no family — regardless of where they live or how much they make — has to fight for the right to eat. Stop reling on the government and making it a way of life

I think most people their are people that need help but that should be for a short time an u have to contribute to society and not think the tax payers should pickup the cost the number of people on snap and assistance is out rageous the more that get on the more taxes go up theirs people out ther pass it down generations to generations and will move to states where it’s easy to obtain benefits I don’t blame them totally like I said ther are honest people who need it but the government doesn’t check anything and looks at it if they keep going they will round up votes who won’t vote for some one that fights so u don’t have to work and recieve all these benefits.But times have change and things change and as always u have the ones that ruin it for others ause they want found a way to live without working #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk

for everybody who's on Snap or food stamps, the Republicans did not do this to you they have voted every day to open up the government but it's your Democrats who refuse to open up the government because they want more of our hard-earned tax money to go to illegals health insurance and other programs and to send money overseas for bullshit! our money needs to pay for Americans, for you people who are struggling! call your Democrat representatives and demands they sign the bill! if you don't this is going to continue on and on and it's going to get very very bad #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk
