I am so tired of people calling him "Doubting Thomas." The guy was traumatized. 💔

When you go through something devastating, the last thing you need is someone telling you to "just have more faith." That’s why the story of Thomas wrecked me today. We brand him as the ultimate skeptic. But think about it: he just watched his best friend and Savior get brutally tortured and murdered. His entire world collapsed. He wasn't being a cynical atheist; he was severely traumatized and terrified to hope again. He literally said, "Unless I touch the wounds, I won't believe." And what did Jesus do? He didn't blast Thomas with lightning. He didn't publicly shame him for lacking faith. He gently held out His scarred hands and met Thomas exactly where his trauma was. If you are struggling to believe right now because life broke your heart, Jesus isn't mad at your doubts. He brings His scars right into our darkest rooms. #DoubtingThomas #ChristianTrauma #GriefJourney #MentalHealth #HeGetsUs

Some people are not suicidal because they want to die. Sometimes they are exhausted from carrying pain that feels impossible to explain. Sometimes they are overwhelmed by loss, trauma, loneliness, financial struggles, mental illness, or life circumstances that seem never-ending. A recent report highlighted by CNN found that nearly 1.2 billion people worldwide were living with mental disorders in 2023, a number that has almost doubled since 1990. Anxiety and depression were among the most common conditions affecting people globally. Behind many smiles are silent battles. Behind many "I'm okay" responses are struggles that nobody sees. And behind many suicidal thoughts is often not a desire to die, but a desire for the pain to stop. Mental health challenges are more common than many people realize, and they can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, profession, faith, or social status. Let us choose compassion over judgment. Let us listen more. Let us check in on one another. Let us create spaces where people feel safe enough to ask for help. You never truly know what someone may be carrying. 💛 Hope matters. 💛 Support matters. 💛 Your life matters. #EndTheStigma #itsokaytonotbeokay #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth

I love that David was so panicked he literally drooled on himself As I wrap up a completely exhausting. stressful week, I found myself reading 1 Samuel 21. And honestly, it made me feel so much better about my own anxiety. David, the legendary giant-slayer, the man after God's own heart, was running for his life. He got so terrified of an enemy king that he suffered a complete psychological breakdown (or faked one) He started scratching on doors and letting spit run down his beard just so they would think he was a madman and let him go It is the most undignified, humiliating moment of his life. Yet, God didn't abandon him for lacking faith. God used that exact messy, desperate moment to save him. When our anxiety strips away all our dignity, God doesn't demand we pull ourselves together. He protects us even in our most embarrassing moments of panic. #AnxietyRelief #KingDavid #GodsGrace #MentalHealth #ChristianLife

When you're so exhausted you just want it all to end (Elijah’s secret) 🛌

I was reading 1 Kings 19, feeling completely drained by life's heavy demands, and Elijah’s story hit me like a ton of bricks. Here is a man who just called down fire from heaven and slaughtered 450 prophets of Baal. But one death threat from Jezebel, and he runs into the wilderness, sits under a tree, and begs God to take his life. He was completely burnt out. What breaks me is God’s response. He didn't preach a sermon. He didn't tell Elijah to "pray harder" or "have more faith." God sent an angel to bake him warm bread, gave him water, and let him sleep. Twice. Sometimes, the most spiritual thing we can do in our darkest, most anxious moments is just rest. God isn't angry at our exhaustion. He meets us right in it. #MentalHealth #Elijah #GodsGrace #ChristianAnxiety #Rest

REAL STORIES

God's response to Eliiah's extreme depression is exactly what I needed today. Going into Monday feeling completely burned out. I was reading 1 Kings 19. Elijah had iust called down fire from heaven and defeated 450 false prophets. The biggest spiritual high ever. But the very next day, he gets a death threat runs into the desert, sits under a tree, and begs God to take his life. He was utterly physically and mentally exhausted And how does God respond to His greatest prophet wanting to quit? He doesn't vell at him. He doesn't preach a sermon about having more faith. God lets him sleep, sends an angel to bake him some fresh bread. and gives him water. Sometimes the most spiritual thing vou can do when vou are overwhelmed is take a nap and eat a good meal. God knows our frames. He knows we are dust Be gentle with yourself today. #MentalHealth #Eliiah #GodsGrace #Burnout #ChristianEncouragement

REAL STORIES

I saw a video with a little boy outside at night with grown adults. He looked no older than seven or eight. In the clip, he called a drug addict a crackhead, hit him, and ran. That alone was bad enough, but what made it worse was how normal it all seemed. He should not have even been outside at night let alone feeling comfortable enough to act ike that around adults When I saw it, I said that little boy would be in iail or hell before 18. People got offended by that, but I was not joking and I was not trying to be cruel. I was saying what too many people are afraid to sav out loud. Behavior like that is not cute. It is not funny. It is not ust kids being kids. It is a warning sign. What bothered me almost as much as the video was the reaction. Some people said pray for him. Others acted like everybody in the video was disrespectful except the child That kind of thinkina is exactlv whv so many boys stay on the wrong path until the consequences get serious. People confuse truth with cruelty and excuse making with compassion. Let me be clear. 1 am not condemning a child. I am condemning the lack of supervision, the lack of correction, and the adults who keep letting obvious dysfunction slide. Prayer matters, but prayer is not a substitute for parenting, discipline, structure intervention, therapy, and real guidance. You can pray over a child all day, but if nobody is putting him in the house, checking his behavior, watching who he is around, and correcting what is going wrong, then the streets will keep teaching him instead And the streets are brutal teachers. People love to act shocked when bovs end up hurt, locked up, or dead. But many times the signs were there early. The disrespect was there. The aaaression was there. Theneglect was there. The adults laughing instead of correcting were there too. Sometimes truth sounds harsh because the situation is harsh. Pretending not to see it has never saved anybody. #Parenting #MentalHealth #Society #Youth
