The Backdoor Trick That Empties the Lunch Line

There’s a free lunch site in our neighborhood that’s supposed to open at 12 p.m. sharp. But for the last few weeks, by the time the clock hits noon, the staff is already saying, “We’re out for today.” Turns out a few people have been sneaking through the back door half an hour early, and since volunteers don’t want conflict, they walk out with three or four meals each.
