I've been feeling completely invisible ately. Unappreciated, overlooked, and just used by the people around me. I kind of broke down in my car today.
To find comfort, I opened my Bible app and ended up reading about Hagar. She was a foreign slave, abused by Sarah, used bu Abraham, and then discarded into the deadly desert when things got messy. She was the lowest of the low ir that society-a nobody.
But God literally tracked her down in the wilderness. He didn't send an angel; the Angel of the Lord met her personally. And she becomes the ONLY person in theentire Bible to give God a name: El Roi (The God who sees me). God didn't reveal this beautiful, intimate title to a king or a high priest. He gave it to a broken, abused, pregnant runaway in the middle of a wasteland. If you feel like nobody sees your pain, He does.
