Because WIC is funded differently and was "safe" from this shutdown. So today at the store, I was able to buy the WIC-approved milk, cheese, and cereal for my 1-year-old. But I could not use SNAP to buy bread, chicken, or potatoes for my 5-year-old. What kind of absurd policy is this? My family is "half-starving."
