Today we remember the legendary Adam West on his heavenly birthday.. (September 19, 1928 – June 9, 2017) 🦇✨ For so many of us, he will always be Batman!!! Our favorite colorful, campy, and endlessly fun Caped Crusader of the 1960s. With a twinkle in his eye and that unmistakable voice, West gave us a hero who fought crime with style, humor, and a trusty “Bam! Pow! Zap!” that made every kid in front of the TV believe in good guys. But Adam West’s story was more than just Gotham City. Born William West Anderson in Walla Walla, Washington, he served in the U.S. Army before pursuing acting. After Batman, he faced the challenge of being typecast, but he never lost his sense of humor or gratitude toward the fans who adored him. He embraced the role fully, knowing it meant so much to generations of viewers. West once said, “You can’t play Batman in a serious, square-jawed way without a little tongue in your cheek.” And that wink is exactly what made him unforgettable. Adam West gave us laughter, adventure, and a hero who was approachable... one we could all look up to. His legacy still shines as bright as the Bat-Signal. 💭 Did you grow up watching his Batman after school, or catch it later in reruns? #batman #adamwest #1960stv #september19
