I spend so much of my life holding it together for everyone else. Today, I just couldn't do it anymore. I locked the bathroom door, turned on the shower so no one could hear me, and just sobbed. I felt completely invisible. When I finally stopped, I opened my Bible app and it landed on Psalm 56:8. David is running for his life, and he says to God, "You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?" In ancient times, mourners literally used "tear bottles" to collect their tears as a physical record of their grief. God isn't up there telling us to stop crying or toughen up. He is so fiercely attentive to our pain that He is spiritually catching every single tear that hits the bathroom floor. You are never crying alone. #Psalm56 #ChristianAnxiety #GodSeesYou #MomsOfFaith #MentalHealth
