Social Security Bump Coming—But Not Soon

We get $56 dollar cost of living when gas, utilities, property tax, all insurances, food continues to go up and we don’t get anything free from the government… no food stamps, no help with anything… that’s our money they’re giving us that’s our intrest they should be paying us on our money and we get a crappy $56 cost of living…. Billions upon billions to Ukraine, now Argentina and we get a crappy $56!!! The Congress needs to decrease their pay and benefits and increase ours!! We’re paying for theirs and they aren’t doing a good job so they need their pay decreased until they start working harder for the people again!!!

Well said. Social Security is not a hand out, as some people seem to think. It is OUR money, taken out of our paychecks during our entire working lives. The government should allow people to decide how much they get each month depending on what their living situation is like. There will always be people who don't need as much every month and others who will need more. I am very grateful for my check every month, but I wish I had more control over the money I worked hard for all my life.
