Woolworths lunch counter was a hidden gem of decent food at a low cost. So was the JCPENNEY restaurants.

I remember my mom and me in Brooklyn NY. Fulton St. Woolsworth, after shopping up and down Fulton St. would stop at Woolsworth and she would have some coffee and some ice box cheese cake, me all I wanted was the cheese cake oh how I loved that treat 😋

I remember my parents taking us to Woolworth's in Corpus Christi when we were little. I know we ate there but I don't remember what we ate. I will have to make this.

you melt the butter and while it's melting mix the sugar and graham crackers together and then pour the butter and mix well and press it evenly into bottom of pan to make the crust then combine all the remaining ingredients together and pour over graham cracker crust and chill for 4-6 hours or overnight.

I too remember shopping at Woolworth's when I was young but I don't think we ever dined there, probably because it was in a nearby big city & there were so many other restaurants. I DO recall having this kind of cheesecake at potlucks back then, though, so the recipe must have gotten out.

Probably mix all ingredients together and pour it into the Graham cracker pie crust.
Refrigerator for a few hours! 😋

in the middle 70s I worked the lunch counter in Independence,Mo. One of the older ladies made our Cheesecake, and it was New York style. loved working there and the food was mostly made not packaged.
